EMC Rules and Settings

Start, Duration and Finish
The EMC frame starts every Sunday at 21:00 Central European Time, which equals 20.00 UK Local time , which equals 3:00 PM Eastern Time in the US. Exceptions to this will be posted ahead of time.

Arenas
The EMC will be held in the appropriate Special Event arenas.

Scoring
At the end of the frame, aircraft losses per type will be tallied. Heavy losses may impact on the availability of that aircraft type in subsequent frames within the same EMC.

Crashes, bails, explosions and collisions will result in the loss of an aircraft.

Destroyed targets will be tallied at the end of the frame, and may result in the frontline being moved for the next frame within the same EMC. Closed airfields may result in partial or total loss of launching capabilities for that airfield in subsequent frames within the same EMC.

Field Capture
Airfields can not be captured directly during a frame. Instead, if all relevant targets have been taken out, the CMs will disable the field, fully or partially, or give the field to the enemy for full or partial operations during the next frame. Specific details on the requirements for field capture will be given in the Intelligence briefings for each upcoming frame.

Lives
The number of lives is dependent on the type of campaign. Currently, each pilot has 1 life to use per hour. The deathcount is reset for all (regardless whether you died or not) at the top of the hour (T+60). You cannot "save" your unspent lives. Crashing, ditching, exploding, bailing, colliding and disconnecting with a damaged aircraft will result in the loss of this life.

HOST settings
Icon settings are abridged from Main Arena settings:

  • dots at 10 000 yards - d100

  • friendly names at 3000 yards - d30

  • enemy plane types at 2000 yards - d20

  • range counters at 900 yards - d9

Killshooter is generally OFF, meaning that bullets hit enemy and friendly alike. Abuse of this is not tolerated and will result in the offender being removed from flight. Protected Structures is generally on, making it impossible to damage friendly targets.

Sideswitching
For obvious reasons sideswitching is frowned upon. For this reason, sideswitching will only be possible once per 60 minutes per pilot. This means that you can enter the arena, realize that you are in the wrong country and switch countries. It will not be possible to enter the arena, switch to the opposing country and spy for a few minutes and then switch countries again.

CM Presence
A CM - the guy with the blue voice - will be present to start the frame and to answer any questions, and to end the frame. A CM is always present during the actual frame.

The CM will do side-balancing if the numbers are too far off for the event to be fun.

The CM's ruling is final. The frame can be a hectic period of time, and emotions may run high. The CM will always strive to make as impartial and fair decisions as possible, to the best of his ability. Please respect this. If you have opinions on how the frame was run, please contact the CM after the event, preferrably via e-mail. The CM will most likely not have time to get into discussions during the actual frame.
